John T. Groark

John T. Groark is a partner with the law firm of Clausen Miller P.C. John received his undergraduate degree from Loyola University in 1976. While employed full-time as a Chicago police officer, he obtained his Juris Doctor degree from John Marshall Law School in 1979.  He continued with his legal education and obtained a Master of Laws in Taxation from DePaul University in 1984.

John has been admitted to practice before the Illinois Supreme Court and the United States District Courts for the Northern District of Illinois and the Northern District of Indiana.  He has also been admitted to the Federal Trial Bar.

John commenced his career with the State's Attorney's Office of Cook County, where he attained the position of lead trial attorney in a felony trial court with primary responsibility for the prosecution of over 300 felony offenses. 

In 1987, he joined Clausen Miller P.C. and concentrates his practice in the areas of Commercial Litigation, Transportation, and the defense of citations issued by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).  John has represented firm clients across the country in all types of litigation matters, including defending multiple death cases in the workplace and defending OSHA citations with proposed penalties in excess of 1 million dollars with laudable results from clients.  John has personally litigated over 50 jury trials.

John has been awarded an "AV" rating from Martindale-Hubbell which indicates the highest ranking in legal ability and ethical standards as determined by his peers in the legal community.
