James Vasquez

Associate

James Vasquez is an Associate at Clausen Miller's New York Office, working with Partner Neil H. Ekblom in the Healthcare/Medical Malpractice Division.

Mr. Vasquez defends hospitals, physicians practices, physicians and related businesses in the health care field in health law matters. Additionally, he handles transactional matters for businesses and professionals including formation, mergers, acquisitions, and he defends businesses in tort suits involving complex medical claims.

Additionally, Mr. Vasquez handles litigation counseling involving complex contracts actions and arbitrations. His counseling advice also extends to start-up companies in the biotechnology industry, advising them on various transactional issues such as distribution, employment, entity formation agreements, and other small business issues related to the raising of capital and commercialization.

Prior to joining the firm Mr. Vasquez was an associate at Garson DeCorato & Cohen, LLP in 2007, where he defended hospitals, physicians and their practices in the area of medical malpractice litigation. In addition, Mr. Vasquez was a former prosecutor at the Kings County District Attorney’s office.  During his four years of employment with the Kings County District Attorney’s Office, he successfully prosecuted and tried over 12 jury trials to verdict on behalf of the citizens of Brooklyn, New York.  Before becoming an Assistant District Attorney, he was employed by the Law Office of Richard R. Mogg, P.C. handling auto insurance liability and premise liability cases in all counties within New York State from 2002-2003.
