Charlotte Kormendy

Associate

Charlotte Kormendy is an Associate in the Chicago office of Clausen Miller P.C. She concentrates her practice in the areas of fidelity & surety litigation and counseling insurers on coverage issues arising from mortgage industry professional liability exposures. Ms. Kormendy also has significant experience handling complex coverage litigation involving various other professional liability policies, including lawyer's liability, D&O, and E&O as well as employment practice liability policies. She is also experienced in general commercial litigation, aviation matters and disputes alleging insurer bad faith in a variety of different contexts.  Ms. Kormendy has tried seven cases to verdict and is a member of the U.S. District Court's Trial Bar through which she has had the opportunity to represent individuals in prisoners' rights cases.

Ms. Kormendy received her juris doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1998, where she was received the "Best Brief" award in the Jessup International Law Moot Court competition.  She earned her bachelor of arts, cum laude, from the University of Massachusetts - Amherst in 1995.  Ms. Kormendy served as President of the Filipino American Bar Association for which she continues to serve as an executive board member.  In 2006, she was selected for the Chicago Filipino American Hall of Fame Award for her continued service to the community.
