Kathryn R Mackey

Associate

Ms. Mackey is an associate at Clausen Miller's Chicago office.  Her litigation practice includes products liability, medical malpractice, professional liability, nursing home liability, and various commercial and insurance matters.

Ms. Mackey received her juris doctor from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where she was one of ten students selected for the Phillip H. Corboy Fellowship in Trial Advocacy.  Through the Corboy Fellowship, Ms. Mackey competed in five national trial competitions, was a Chicago Regional Finalist in the Texas Young Lawyers Association National Trial Competition, and received over 400 hours of trial advocacy training from prominent judges and attorneys in Chicago.

As a senior law student, Ms. Mackey interned with the Federal Defender Program in Chicago, where she drafted legal memoranda, motions, and outlines for oral argument in connection with representation of defendants charged with federal crimes.  At the end of her term, Ms. Mackey was selected from among the intern class for a Special Recognition Award and scholarship.

In June, 2009, Ms. Mackey acted as an assistant instructor for the CBA College of Trial Advocacy CLE event entitled "Stealing Thunder: Structuring and Crafting an Engaging Direct Examination."

Prior to law school, Ms. Mackey worked as a high school English teacher in the Bronx, New York.
