Robert E. Wilens

Robert E. Wilens is a partner with Clausen Miller P.C. His practice includes subrogation recovery for large-scale property losses due to fires, explosions, roof collapses, airplane crashes and other catastrophic events, as well as general products liability defense and other insurance related matters. Since joining Clausen Miller, Mr. Wilens has been responsible for recoveries totaling more than $50,000,000.
Prior to joining Clausen Miller in December, 1999, Mr. Wilens was an associate attorney at Segal, McCambridge, Singer and Mahoney, Ltd. in Chicago, Illinois. At Segal, McCambridge, Mr. Wilens' practice was concentrated in general insurance defense, including toxic tort, municipal liability, employment law and products liability, including power tools, large machinery and medical devices. He was actively involved with a case which was decided by the Supreme Court of the United States, and established a psychotherapist–patient privilege under Federal Rule 501.
Mr. Wilens earned a Bachelor of General Studies degree from the University of Michigan in 1987 with concentrations in Political Science and Accounting. He graduated from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri in 1990. During law school, Mr. Wilens participated in an internship with the Sports Management Group in St. Louis, Missouri, where he participated in contract negotiations, product endorsements and client recruiting for professional football and baseball players.
Mr. Wilens is admitted to practice law in Illinois and Missouri and is a member of the Federal Trial Bar. He is also admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court, Seventh Circuit, Northern, Central and Southern Districts of Illinois and Western District of Wisconsin. He resides in Wilmette, Illinois.
