Debra B. Walker

Debra B. Walker is a partner with Clausen Miller P.C. who concentrates her practice in the area of professional liability defense. She represents health care clients including physicians, hospitals, HMOs, nursing homes and allied health care providers. She also represents accountants and lawyers. Additionally, Ms. Walker has extensive experience in products liability, premises liability, construction and general negligence cases. She has an “AV” rating with Martindale Hubbell indicating the highest rating in legal ability and ethical standards as determined by her peers in the legal community.
Ms. Walker received her J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law, where she was selected as the Outstanding Woman Law Graduate for the Class of 1987. She received her bachelor’s degree magna cum laude in accountancy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1982. Ms. Walker is also a Certified Public Accountant, having passed the examination on her first attempt.
Ms. Walker is a past president of the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois and member of the Illinois and Chicago Bar Associations. She was recently appointed to the Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism and to the Board of Directors of the Illinois Bar Foundation. Ms. Walker served on the U.S. Judicial Nominations Commission by appointment of U.S. Senator Richard Durbin. She has also served on the University of Illinois College of Law Board of Visitors and was charter chair of its Recent Alumni Advisory Board. Additionally, Ms. Walker is a past president of the North Michigan Avenue Business and Professional Women’s Network and a member of The Economic Club of Chicago.
