John M. Hynes

John M. Hynes is a senior partner with Clausen Miller P.C. He is a graduate of Northwestern University and Loyola University School of Law. He has been a member of the firm since 1985.
Mr. Hynes is an active litigator and trial attorney with dozens of jury verdicts and judgments in significant professional liability defense matters, including wrongful death actions. His cases are reported in the Jury Verdict Reporter and in published decisions in state and federal courts. He is a skilled litigator and experienced trial lawyer. He has been named an Illinois Super Lawyer for the past 2 years. Mr. Hynes has an "AV" rating with Martindale-Hubbell indicating the highest ranking in legal ability and ethical standards as determined by his peers in the legal community.
Mr. Hynes concentrates his practice in the defense of professionals. He represents professionals and professional organizations and boards in litigation in state and federal court as well as before state licensing agencies, the EEOC, the Illinois Human Rights Commission, and the NASD. He has practiced extensively in Federal District Court throughout Illinois and Wisconsin. He has counseled and defended physicians, psychologists, social workers, school districts, attorneys, accountants, collection agencies, construction and financial consultants and other professionals, as well as hospitals, real estate managers, financial institutions, businesses and other organizations and their boards. Mr. Hynes defends financial professionals sued for violation of the FDCPA, FCRA, TILA and other financial statutory claims. He handles matters for a number of private clients as well as insurance clients.
Mr. Hynes is a lifelong Illinois resident, active in community civic and professional organizations. He is married to Sara, also an attorney, and is the father of three sons.
