Gregory S. Smith

Mr. Smith is the resident managing partner of Clausen Miller P.C.'s New York office. Since joining the firm in 1977, Mr. Smith's practice has concentrated in counseling and litigating property insurance coverage matters. He has experience in all phases of dispute resolution including trials, arbitrations and mediation. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in government and international studies from the University of Notre Dame. He was awarded the degree of Juris Doctor, cum laude, from DePaul University in 1977.

In addition to having litigated matters in numerous jurisdictions of the United States, Mr. Smith has handled international property and subrogation cases for a number of America's leading insurance companies. As a principal member of the firm's international practice group, Mr. Smith has significant experience in the handling of and counseling with respect to foreign insurance matters. He has personally conducted or supervised investigations, examinations, discovery and litigation in many countries within Europe, the Middle East, Asia, South America and Africa. Mr. Smith is also a Registered Foreign Lawyer in the United Kingdom. He is a partner in Clausen Miller Europe, a multinational partnership of attorneys with offices located in England, France and Italy.

Mr. Smith is admitted to practice before the Courts of the States of New York and Illinois. He is a member of the Bar of the District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and Southern and Northern Districts of New York. He has been admitted to the Trial Bar of The Northern District of Illinois Court. He is a member of the New York State and American Bar Associations. He has given speeches and presentations and has conducted seminars on areas of interest to several industry groups and associations.

Mr. Smith resides with his wife and three children in Westport, Connecticut.
