Sava Alexander Vojcanin

Partner

Sava Alexander Vojcanin is a shareholder based in Clausen Miller’s Chicago office. Sava counsels first-party property insurers in high exposure, complex commercial claims. He serves as coverage counsel, and as circumstances dictate, handles ensuing negotiations, appraisals, arbitrations and litigation in jurisdictions across the United States. As a litigator, Sava is generally responsible for all aspects of civil litigation from pre-suit investigation through settlement, trial or appeal.

Leading professional organizations and academic institutions often invite Sava to lecture across the United States and Europe on a vast array of emerging issues confronting property insurers, design professionals and fledgling democracies. Among his various publications, Sava edited Law, Culture, and Values, a textbook anthology of scholarly essays examining cross-cultural notions of jurisprudence and distributive justice. From time to time, Sava consults with judges, legislators, and non-governmental organizations, working to reform judicial procedures in some of Europe’s emerging democracies. While in law school, he served as a Special Editor of the Washington University Law Quarterly. He is an alumnus of the Culver Academies.

Sava and his wife Valerie have two children. He is a founding member of St. Basil Orthodox Church in Lake Forest, Illinois and a past president of the Serbian Bar Association of America.
