Associates

Bar Exam Preparation

After law school graduation, the new associate at Clausen Miller P.C. spends the majority of his or her time studying for the State bar examination. After the bar exam and before licensing, a new associate begins working full-time. During this period, the associate does research and observes legal proceedings in anticipation of passing the bar.

Assuming Responsibility

Upon passing the bar exam, new associates immediately assume responsibility, under the supervision of a partner, for cases from start to conclusion. Through on-the-job experience and in-house training, Clausen Miller P.C. helps associates develop their legal skills and mature professionally as rapidly as possible.

Our associate training process emphasizes teamwork and fosters the accelerated development of skills. Working with partners and senior-level associates, new associates receive individual attention. It is our firm's practice to provide each new associate with trial experience as soon as possible.

In-House Training

To facilitate the continuing education of our attorneys, the firm conducts or sponsors in-house training sessions and continuing legal education programs. In-house training focuses on the development of litigation skills and client communication. Through lectures, demonstrations and participation, the associate receives direction in the procedural and substantive aspects of litigation. Clausen Miller P.C. also arranges lectures by local judges and attorneys as well as videotaped seminars on trial practice.

Evaluation

The progress of each associate is reviewed annually, and a partner discusses the results with the associate.

A Congenial Atmosphere

At Clausen Miller P.C. we believe in a strong work ethic. We work hard to get the job done, yet we still know how to have fun. We encourage a congenial atmosphere by providing the opportunity to participate in many different athletic and social activities. This interaction with co-workers, in a nonprofessional setting, builds personal camaraderie among our attorneys. In addition, Clausen Miller P.C. sponsors firm-wide summer and holiday parties, and informal quarterly gatherings. We believe that the strong personal relationships and the strength of our diverse staff make Clausen Miller P.C. a great place to work.
