J. Ryan Hemingway and Yoko Yamamoto presented "Product Liability Trends and Updates for U.S. & China" to representatives from approximately a dozen major manufacturing companies in Japan. Ms. Yamamoto presented the newest U.S. cases on preemption, as well as the increasing power of the CPSC and recall litigation trends. Mr. Hemingway presented on the newest laws in China affecting product liability including the new tort law, the People's new mediation law, and updates of recall actions in China.
