August 29, 2007 - August 29, 2010

On August 29, 2007, CM Partners, Robert A. Stern (New York/New Jersey) and Dean S. Rauchwerger (Chicago), presented a Seminar to a leading insurance services provider.  This company serves the insurance industry as Third Party Administrators and independent adjusters, providing claims data and risk related services to insurance carriers, self insured, public entities, brokers and other intermediaries.  Its claims services include Property & Casualty, Workers’ Compensation, S I U & Surveillance, Transportation & Logistics, Environmental, Construction and Inland & Ocean Marine.

The Seminar, "Jumping Over the Evidentiary Hurdles to Victory," covered the law of evidence and the important principles underlying admissibility, exclusion and the foundational elements of proof.  Robert and Dean discussed many of the evidence rules, such as: relevance, judicial notice, privilege and work product protections, expert disclosures and hearsay.  They also discussed important evidence topics, such as: Daubert hurdles, use of documents/exhibits at trial, cross examination/types of impeachment, character and habit evidence.  Throughout the seminar, Robert and Dean provided tips on developing and challenging an evidentiary case from the first notice of loss through adjustment to trial.  They also provided actual case examples.  The feedback on the seminar was excellent.  Should you be interested in a similar in-house evidence seminar, please feel free to e-mail Robert (rstern@clausen.com) or call him (212-805-3900), or e-mail Dean (drauchwerger@clausen.com) or call him (312-606-7715)
