P.Scott Ritchie, a partner with Clausen Miller P.C. presented on the topic of Records Retention v. Statute of Limitations at the Property Casualty Insurers of America Record Retention Compliance Seminar/Webinar on October 15, 2009.
When thinking about the retention of records, companies need to not only consider the laws or regulations that require records be kept for a specified period of time, but companies also need to factor in the requirements of statute of limitations. Mr. Ritchie discussed the balance between record retention policies and the statute of limitations.
