Hoey Speaks at PLRB Large Loss Conference in Tucson, AZ

On December 1-3, 2008, James Hoey, Partner, of Clausen Miller P.C., will co-present at the Property Loss Research Bureau’s Large Loss Conference in Tucson, Arizona, with Peter Hood (Swiss Reinsurance America Corporation) and Douglas Peterson (Douglas G. Peterson & Associates). Their presentation, entitled "Valuation: Repair vs. Replacement Claims," will cover the comparison policy of property valuation clauses and application, in addition to determining "repair" vs. "replacement" options and balancing the costs of each. They will also discuss court standards used in determining whether repair is the proper valuation of a loss and how valuing a loss impacts other elements of the claim.
