Stern and Rauchwerger Presented "Jumping Over Evidentiary Hurdles"

January 28, 2008

On January 28, 2008, CM Partners, Robert A. Stern (New York/New Jersey) and Dean S. Rauchwerger (Chicago), presented a Seminar to "the world's largest independent provider of claims management solutions to insurance companies and self-insured entities, with a global network of more than 700 offices in 63 countries."  The Seminar was presented to the Toronto, Canada branch.

The Seminar, "Jumping Over the Evidentiary Hurdles to Victory," covered the law of evidence and the important principles underlying admissibility, exclusion and the foundational elements of proof. Robert and Dean discussed many of the evidence rules, such as: relevance, judicial notice, privilege and work product protections, expert disclosures and hearsay. They also discussed important evidence topics, such as: Daubert hurdles, use of documents/exhibits at trial, cross examination/types of impeachment, character and habit evidence. Throughout the seminar, Robert and Dean provided tips on developing and challenging an evidentiary case from the first notice of loss through adjustment to trial. They also provided actual case examples. The feedback on the seminar was excellent.
