Clausen Miller P.C. offers a unique alternative for companies needing immediate access to international law firms ready to represent them in multi-jurisdictional issues: Clausen Miller International (CMI), our multinational partnership.
van Cutsem-Wittamer-Marnef & Partners has given legal advice as well as negotiated and pleaded cases for more than 25 years-always observing the essential values of the profession: independence, expertise and loyalty.
For the most part, the law firm practices insurance law and business law in its various dimensions. This enables it to maintain personalized relations with the clients, a very large number of which have been showing their confidence in "van Cutsem-Wittamer-Marnef & Partners" for the past quarter of a century.
The clientele has both a national and international background and represents the major industrial, commercial and services sectors: insurance, automobile, banks, accounting firms, construction, real estate, advertising and press agencies, tobacco industry, textile, restaurants, hotels, and transportation among others.
Set up at the end of 1976 by Jean-Pierre van CUTSEM and Pierre-Paul WITTAMER in the form of a société civile d'avocats, the law firm began with two partners and several associates.
In May 1977, René François PIRET joined the two partners and the law firm took on the name "van CUTSEM-WITTAMER-PIRET"
On January 1, 1989, Patrick MARNEF, who had been doing all of his training within the law firm since 1978, joined the group of partners. Jan CUYPERS, who had entered the firm in 1989, followed suit and joined the group of partners in 1996. Others from the outside also became partners: Patrice COURTIN in 1996, then Raymond BEYENS and Pierre BEYENS in 1998. In April 2001, two other associates, including Katrien SERRIEN, joined the group of partners, raising the number from eight to ten. Then, in January 2002 Bernard DAUTRICOURT and Olivier d'URSEL have joined the group of partners. Finally, Anne JONLET, in January 2003, and Bertrand Wittamer, in January 2004, have become partners as well.
The law firm is now called "van CUTSEM-WITTAMER-MARNEF et ASSOCIES" and has its offices in Brussels. There are twelve partners, some seventeen associates and a staff of twelve employees.
