Avoiding Trial Pitfalls And Maximizing Success On Appeal

This course will review the structure of the court system and reviewing court system, the manner in which an appeal is perfected, the use of appellate counsel in a trial, triage function at trial to ensure victory and help preserve the record for appeal, the use of appellate counsel during post-trial proceedings, the use of appellate counsel in appellate proceedings, the technicalities of appellate practice, how to determine the strengths and weaknesses of an appeal, and benefits and drawbacks of prosecuting appeals in coverage and casualty cases.

Avoiding Trial Pitfalls And Maximizing Success On Appeal is approved for one hour of Texas, Florida, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Wyoming and Utah Continuing Education credit. It has also been approved for one hour of New York and Illinois CLE credit.
