Don Sampen Joined Clausen Miller Appellate Practice Group

Clausen Miller is pleased to announce that Don Sampen, formerly of Meckler Bulger & Tilson, has joined our Appellate Practice Group. Don comes to us with over 30 years of trial and appellate experience in various areas including insurance coverage and complex litigation. Don is a magna cum laude graduate of Northwestern University College of Law, where he was Executive Editor of the Northwestern Law Review. He is a former clerk to the Honorable Philip W. Tone of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and served eight years as the Chief of the Public Interest and Special Litigation Divisions of the Illinois Attorney General's Office. Don has been an Adjunct Professor of Law at Northwestern, Loyola and Chicago-Kent Colleges of Law, teaching courses in Remedies, Advanced Trial Practice, Pretrial Litigation, Trademarks and Unfair Competition, and Insurance Law. Don is currently an Adjunct Professor at Loyola University College of Law teaching a course in Insurance Law. Don is frequent lecturer and also a prolific writer, authoring numerous articles in various areas of the law. Don recently coauthored a chapter appearing in New Appleman Insurance Law Practice Guide entitled "Initiating Insurance Coverage Litigation".
