International

As U.S. entities have sought to expand their business around the world, and foreign businesses have sought to enter the U.S. market, Clausen Miller’s international practice has expanded accordingly over several decades. Our culturally sensitive attorneys, many of whom speak a second language, respond to the legal needs of business communities across the globe, handling matters in locations ranging from Asia to the Caribbean.

Other international matters we handle include international privatization projects in Eastern Europe, advising commercial and investment banks and other financial institutions on their transactions, forming corporations, limited liability companies, and other legal entities, and joint venture agreements. We advise clients on the legal aspects of problems they may encounter with regard to environmental protection and assist in procedures regarding environmental impact reports.

The firm’s network of worldwide counsel ensures clients receive consistent representation wherever they are located. The establishment of Clausen Miller Europe (CAM), a multinational partnership of solicitors and registered foreign lawyers headquartered in London with additional European offices in Paris and Rome, further solidifies our global presence. CAM represents domestic and foreign clients in aspects of administrative law, business formation, insurance, environmental protection, and finance. Our attorneys are active in the French-American Chamber of Commerce and Morison International.

Clausen Miller has also recently received its license for its representative office in Shanghai, China.  Our Shanghai office runs Clausen Miller's Asia Practice, which involves working with clients in Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Viet Nam, Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong and many other parts of Mainland China.  Clausen Miller's primary business mission in Asia is to represent clients in that area of the world with exposures, problems and legal need arising out of commercial interests and liability exposures in North America and Europe.  Only 250 foreign law firms world wide have been approved to operate in Shanghai.

With such a firm global foothold and expertise in cross-border matters, our attorneys counsel both foreign and American companies in taking full advantage of new opportunities at home and abroad, whether they are transnational joint ventures and international acquisitions or arbitration and litigation.
