Biography

Dan Polsby joined Clausen Miller in 2017 after accumulating nearly 20 years of civil litigation practice in state and federal courts.  He has tried bench and jury trials in Illinois and New York.  Dan has represented insurance carriers in bad faith and coverage litigation as well as their insureds in casualty and professional negligence claims.  He has also handled complex commercial arbitrations hearings.

Dan currently concentrates his practice in the defense of professional negligence lawsuits in federal and state courts.  He represents attorneys, real estate professionals, accountants, architects, property managers, school districts, construction contractors, life insurance companies and businesses.  He also concentrates his practice in cyber law and class action defense.  He also defends medical malpractice and negligence claims against physicians, other health care providers and long-term care facilities.

His practice also includes employment litigation, including the representation of respondents before the EEOC and the Illinois Department of Human Rights.  Dan represents school districts and business respondents in all manner of employment discrimination claims.

Dan joined the United States Marine Corps Reserve out of high school and served as a non-commissioned officer for six years while attending college and law school.  He earned a B.A. in Humanities from Bradford College in 1995 and graduated from Northwestern University School of Law in 1999.
