Biography

Dennis is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Clausen Miller P.C., handling first-party property insurance, coverage and defense, including All-Risk, Energy, Builders Risk, Boiler & Machinery, Cyber Risk and COVID-19 matters. He also handles professional liability defense, premises liability defense, construction litigation and subrogation cases.

Dennis has tried jury cases involving complex insurance litigation (including bad faith defense) and construction cases (including subrogation and design professional defense), with trials in Florida, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Wisconsin and Illinois. He has also been admitted pro hac vice in many courts around the United States, handling litigation, arbitrations and mediations. He has also prosecuted fraud cases in state and federal courts.

Dennis received his undergraduate degree from Marquette University and J.D. at DePaul University College of Law. Dennis has spent his entire legal career at Clausen Miller. In addition to Illinois, he is also licensed to practice in Washington, D.C. and Minnesota where he has handled coverage matters and litigation defense. He is also admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Northern District of Illinois where he is a Member of the Trial Bar, the Eastern District of Wisconsin and the Northern District of Florida.

Dennis was elected as a member of the American College of Coverage Counsel (“ACCC”) and the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel (“FDCC”). He is also a member of the Property Loss Research Bureau (“PLRB”) 2025 Large Loss Planning Committee. He has spoken at numerous industry conferences and has provided direct client presentations.

Dennis is the Chairman of Clausen Miller’s Board of Directors and has served on several Boards of charitable organizations, including the American Cancer Society’s Greater Downtown Unit Board. Dennis was also appointed as a member of the Steering Committee for the 2025 STEM is for Everyone event in London.
