Biography

Ilene is a partner with Clausen Miller P.C. and focuses her litigation practice on liability insurance coverage law including professional liability, environmental and toxic tort, construction, excess insurance, cyber and data breach.  As an experienced trial attorney in liability coverage, professional and casualty and commercial matters, Ilene has represented clients throughout the United States.  Ilene’s no nonsense approach to litigation reflects her commitment to clients to successfully strategize resolution of claims. In partnering closely with her clients, Ilene meets her client’s litigation objectives to seize early opportunities for prompt resolutions, and mitigate damages where appropriate.

Ilene tried liability insurance coverage and casualty cases, several of which have published the innovative legal approach she has marshalled. Ilene has an AV® Preeminent™ rating in Martindale-Hubbell indicating the highest ranking in legal ability and ethical standards as determined by her peers in the legal community. She is a frequent speaker and presenter on topical claim handling and liability insurance issues.

Ilene has served extensively in the Chicago Bar Association, the American Bar and has served on boards of numerous public service agencies including founding board member of Coordinated Advice & Referral Program for Legal Services (CARPLS), board member of PILI, Center for Conflict Resolution, and the Make A Wish Foundation of Northern Illinois. From 1990 to 1998, Ilene served as Special Assistant Attorney General of the State of Illinois.

Ilene is an arbitrator for the Cook County Mandatory Arbitration Program and the National Futures Association.
