Biography

Irene Thaler is a Clausen Miller Partner located in Boca Raton. Irene devotes a large portion of her practice to coverage, bad faith litigation and first-party property defense litigation. Irene assists admitted and surplus line insurers in all aspects of coverage disputes, including pre-suit investigations and coverage evaluations, declaratory judgment actions and bad faith litigation. Many of the coverage disputes Irene handles are derived from claims involving windstorm, fire, mold, water, and equipment breakdown losses. Irene also has experience in toxic mold cases and construction defect matters. Throughout her career, Irene has achieved many favorable outcomes in litigated cases – whether it be through settlement, dispositive motion practice, or trial. Irene has also been published in the Daily Business Review, authoring articles titled Recent 11th Circuit Case May Impact COVID-19 Litigation and Florida’s Southern District Court Tosses Out Covid-19 Complaints.

Irene graduated from Fordham University with degrees in Political Science and English. She earned her juris doctorate from St. Thomas University School of Law. While in law school, Irene served as the executive editor for the Intercultural Human Rights Law Review and a member of the International Moot Court Board. Irene was awarded the highest honor in Appellate Advocacy and served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Barbara Areces. Prior to joining Clausen Miller P.C., Irene was a partner at a large regional firm where she handled insurance defense litigation.
