Biography

Ivar R. Azeris is a partner with Clausen Miller P.C. who concentrates his litigation practice in corporate and commercial areas. He has litigated contract, employment, trademark and security matters and injunction proceedings. His real estate litigation experience includes foreclosure proceedings for both mortgage loans and mechanics’ liens. In regard to wills and trusts, he has litigated all aspects of estate administration proceedings, including will contests, trust construction suits and claim proceedings. Ivar has also handled general tort litigation involving auto, common carrier, railroad, commercial, and malpractice matters.

Ivar has experience in the general corporate area including establishing and advising closely held corporations, sale and acquisition of corporate and other business entities and negotiating employment and related agreements.
Ivar handles estate planning and estate administration matters, including preparation of wills, trusts and other estate planning documentation.

Ivar is experienced in real estate and real estate–related matters, including representation of buyers and sellers in both residential and commercial transactions and lenders in regard to preparation of loan documentation.
Ivar received a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Illinois in 1970 and received his Juris Doctor from Boston College Law School in Massachusetts in 1973. He has been admitted to practice in Illinois since 1974 and to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois since 1975. He is also admitted as a member of the Federal Trial Bar.

Ivar is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association. At the Chicago Bar Association, he served on the Corporation and Business Law Committee and the Civil Practice Committee. He has lectured at bar association seminars on current legal issues. Ivar is also a member of the Union League Club of Chicago and served on the Board of Directors from 1992 to 1995.
