Biography

Kristen E. Mueller is based in Chicago, Illinois and is a Partner in the firm’s Appellate & Trial Monitoring Practice Group. She is a seasoned litigator with extensive experience in trial and appellate courts.

Prior to joining Clausen Miller, Kristen founded Mueller Law, LLC, and worked both as external general counsel and as an attorney at law firms and government agencies, including the Illinois Office of the State Appellate Defender. Her background spans complex litigation matters, including commercial, civil, real property transactions and taxes, domestic relations and criminal matters. She has represented clients in high-stakes federal lawsuits, complex commercial disputes and appeals before state and federal courts. She has also represented private companies, school districts, title insurance companies and individuals.

Prior to joining private practice, Kristen represented death row inmates in post-conviction proceedings and served as Assistant Appellate Defender for the Office of the State Appellate Defender in Chicago.
