Kristine Barten is an associate based in Chicago, advising insurers and clients on complex insurance defense matters. She is an experienced litigator, having represented clients in a variety of civil litigation matters, including construction, premises liability and motor vehicle accidents.
Prior to joining Clausen Miller P.C., Kristine worked as a litigation attorney for numerous law firms in the greater Chicago area, where she handled all aspects of insurance coverage litigation as well as matters involving personal injury claims and family law.
Kristine earned her J.D. from Northern Illinois University, where she graduated cum laude and was named to the Dean’s List across all semesters. She also earned her B.A. from Northern Illinois University, graduating summa cum laude. During her time in law school, Kristine served as a law clerk for Student’s Legal Assistance and for Prairie State Legal Services, where she completed over 600 pro bono hours. After graduating from law school, she served as an assistant public defender for the Winnebago County Public Defender’s Office.
Outside of practicing law, Kristine has been a violinist in the Evanston Symphony Orchestra since 2019.
