Biography

Marisa is a Senior Associate at Clausen Miller’s New Jersey and New York offices. Currently, her focus includes professional liability, real estate litigation, premises liability, products liability, personal injury defense, commercial litigation, and general liability matters. Marisa sharpened her legal skills as a law clerk at Clausen Miller where she worked alongside attorneys in researching and drafting memoranda on numerous legal issues in preparation for litigation, including motions to the court. Additionally, through simulation-based skill development courses, Marisa was able to build a foundation for practical legal experiences while still in law school. A few of these courses include Depositions, Licensing and Agreements, Interviewing, Counseling, and Negotiations, and Trial Advocacy.

Marisa received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Rutgers University – New Brunswick and her Juris Doctorate degree (cum laude) from Elisabeth Haub School of Law, formerly Pace University School of Law. Marisa served as an associate on Pace Environmental Law Review and as secretary for Pace’s Sports, Entertainment, and Art Law Society.  She focused on obtaining general knowledge of the intellectual property fields by taking various classes including Copyright law, Entertainment law, and Trademark Practice and Procedure, which focused on fundamentals of trademark practice, including clearance and registration through to enforcement and protection. During law school, she was also a member of the Land Use Law Center, where she researched case law, statutes, and regulations regarding land use issues, and focused on best practices for sustainability and clean energy. She also attended various public engagements and planning board meetings to discuss community developments and improvements for local governments.
