Biography

Greg  prepares and postures every case for a potential trial from the very first intake.  This allows him to best represent his client’s interests from beginning to end and conduct an appropriate risk versus reward analysis in order to maximize recovery at a minimal cost.  Greg is able to do this analysis from all perspectives due to his experience both prosecuting and defending matters and the wealth of information he has aggressively pursued from initial intake. He understands that the best result is the one that best serves the interests of his client.

Greg primarily handles a national subrogation practice and has litigated industrial, commercial and residential losses due to fires, explosions, product defect, design and improper installation, toxic losses, floods, freezes, roof collapse, construction collapse, defective design, marine mishap, gas leaks, sprinkler failures, water intrusion, defective mechanical product designs, green construction, agricultural loss, and broad scale industry loss including production plants and steel mill losses.  He has also defended these same types of matters and previously practiced as a criminal prosecutor.

Greg previously defended large home appliance manufacturers, paint and chemical manufacturers, general and subcontractors in construction litigation, pharmaceutical losses due to malpractice, condominium association mold and environmental litigation and wrongful death matters.  He has handled first party property, casualty and inland marine insurance coverage matters and continues to do so.

Greg has litigated and handled matters throughout Arkansas, Alabama, California, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Wisconsin and numerous federal jurisdictions.  He has also assisted in handling and providing counsel in matters in Canada, Brazil, France, Germany and the United Kingdom.

Greg received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from DePauw University in 1994 and his Juris Doctor from Northern Illinois University College of Law in 1997.  While at Northern Illinois University Greg was appointed a Rule 711 senior law clerk/prosecutor for the Lee County State’s Attorney Office maintaining a daily trial call and prosecuting hundreds of cases, including a felony jury trial as first chair.

After graduation Greg was a Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney prosecuting cases in the misdemeanor and felony courts of Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.  He has served as a City Commissioner for his home town of Wheaton, Illinois.

In his limited free time, Greg has relived his doubtful glory days coaching pee wee sports for his three children and supports his wife in her calling as an Ordained Lutheran Minister.
