Zachary Johnson is an associate based in Clausen Miller’s Chicago office. He successfully leads clients through each stage of litigation and excels in obtaining dismissal of claims against his clients through motions to dismiss and for summary judgment.
He recognizes that dismissal is not always possible. He has seen matters from pleading to dismissal, including drafting pleadings, issuing written discovery and third-party subpoenas, as well as deposing fact and expert witnesses. He is also adept at managing complex eDiscovery matters.
Zach represents a wide array of clients, including attorneys, appraisers, accountants, architects and engineers, brokers, school districts, administrators, real estate professionals, employment staffing agencies, social workers, physicians, hospitals, construction and financial consultants, financial institutions, condominium associations, corporations, and other businesses and their boards.
Zach’s experience includes defending municipalities on governmental immunity and fault matters. He also has deep experience with claims made on airport property.
Earlier in his career, he was a staff attorney at the Illinois Appellate Court in the First and Fourth Districts, where he reviewed appellate briefs and drafted orders and opinions on behalf of the justices.
Following law school, he was a postgraduate fellow at the U. S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, where he drafted judicial orders and opinions in veterans’ appeals of administrative denials of claims for compensation. He also externed for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the U. S. District Court of Wyoming.
Zachary is licensed to practice law in Illinois and is a member of the Illinois Bar Association. He holds a B.B.A. from Loyola University Chicago and a J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law.
