Clausen Miller Chicago Goes Green with New Office

In December 2025, Clausen Miller’s Chicago Office relocated to The Bell, at 225 W. Randolph. The Bell, which just underwent a complete renovation by new owners Onni Group, achieved LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) under the LEED v4 for Building Design and Construction (BD+C) rating system. This designation demonstrates a commitment to building holistic/green buildings for the benefit of tenants and members of the community alike. The LEED v4 BD+C rating system, developed by the USGBC, evaluates new construction and renovations across a comprehensive set of environmental criteria including Integrative Process Credits, Access to Public Transportation, water efficiency, energy use, materials, and indoor environmental quality. Buildings with a Gold certification have demonstrated exceptional performance across the majority of these categories.
Clausen Miller also had the opportunity to build out their office spaces on the 7th floor, and made deliberate decisions with environmental impact in mind. The new office space utilizes overhead lighting and outlets tied to motion detectors, cutting down on energy waste. The breakroom includes high efficiency appliances and reusable tableware. Even the offices themselves feature less storage for files to encourage less printing, and increased use of online systems to review, modify, and store documents. These choices, combined with the selection of The Bell, demonstrate our continued commitment to green practices for the betterment of our employees, communities, and planet.
