Biography

Maura is a partner with Clausen Miller PC who concentrates her litigation practice in the areas of construction liability, premises liability, products liability, employment law and liability coverage defense. She plays an instrumental role in analyzing complex legal issues at various stages of litigation — from initial claim evaluation through dispositive motion practice and trial.

Maura’s clients have included an international automotive supplier in lawsuits across the country, with trials in both state and federal court. She has also represented a manufacturer of railcars involved in litigation worldwide. Maura has assisted in serving as regional counsel to a Fortune 500 company for the defense of all claims brought within the designated geographical region.

Maura’s professional satisfaction comes from knowing that when she is selected to represent a client, that client’s needs will always come first. She will defend them vigorously, while always making sure the defense and strategy are practical from a business point of view.

Maura has served on the Firm’s Hiring and Mentoring Committees. Outside of work, she enjoys running, both in races and for fun.

Maura received a B.A. in English literature and writing from Fairfield University in 1987. In 1990, she graduated from the University of Detroit School of Law where she was a winner in the moot court competition involving Michigan’s marital rape exemption law.
