Biography

Associate Aicha Kyria Aimé-Marcelin concentrates her practice in the areas of general liability, premises liability and motor-vehicle accidents. A skilled negotiator and legal researcher, Aicha is also fluent in French and Haitian Creole.

Prior to joining Clausen Miller, Aicha was a litigation associate at an insurance defense firm, where she conducted legal research, defended depositions, negotiated settlements of case and drafted pleadings, discovery responses and dispositive motions. She also served as a judicial intern for the Supreme Court of the State of New York, researching and analyzing legal issues and preparing reports and memoranda under The Honorable Lisa S. Headley.

Aicha earned her J.D. and a Maritime Law Certificate from Tulane University Law School, where she was a research assistant and a member of the Black Law Student Association, the Maritime Law Society and the Tulane Entertainment and Art Legal Society. She competed on the Tulane Moot Court team in the BLSA Appellate Discipline, winning third place along with the award for best petitioner brief at the regional competition, and served as a student attorney at the Tulane Law Juvenile Clinic and an assistant project coordinator for the New Orleans Bar Association.

Before pursuing a career in law, Aicha graduated from Alfred State College SUNY with a B.S. in Architectural Technology and worked as an architectural designer for three years, designing various commercial and residential projects.
